Senior Business Development Manager

At Checkbox you will be our first senior sales hire and will play a critical role in accelerating our company from “1 to 10”. Reporting directly to the CEO, there is a huge potential for your role to grow with the company.
The person we are looking for must be a proven winner and must be an absolute gun in independently generating and managing the end-to-end pipeline for key deals to bring in new revenue. There will be a strong initial focus on business development into the in-house corporate legal teams of large enterprise businesses in Australia, selling to the General Counsel or similar, with opportunity to branch out into other customer segments and industries.
In this position, you will:
+ Deliver against quota with a strong emphasis on new business sales
+ Prospect, qualify, develop and close sales opportunities primarily through field sales
+ Manage and report on your sales administration and prospect data in HubSpot CRM or similar
+ Represent the Checkbox brand as one of the key faces of the company at events and in general
+ Support other members of the business development team to maximise their performance
+ Collaborate with the Head of Marketing role or similar to drive growth in revenue
+ Build and refine the sales playbook, process and operations to maximise the efficiency of sales
The ideal candidate would exhibit the following:
+ At least 5 years of experience selling software as a service (SaaS) to senior decision makers in enterprises
+ Experience selling software to prospects where the problem is only identified through a discovery process
+ Strong experience in solution selling methodology
+ Proven track record of delivering consistently to target on recurring revenue through field sales
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
+ Sharp and quick learner who is able to move between industries and different customer segments
+ Able to work in an environment that is low in resource and is still maturing in its sales process and support
+ Existing network in the legal sector, particularly in-house corporate legal departments
+ Have worked for a start-up or small business
Compensation will vary based on experience but will consist of salary, commission and stock options (ESOP).
