Business Development Manager

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for someone well versed in legal technology and SaaS sales, who can demonstrate expertise by driving revenue and winning key deals. This role is centred around business development into the in-house legal / general counsel teams of large enterprise businesses.

What will you do?

The role requires the ability to work with the management and sales team to deliver customer sales to agreed targets. Success in direct selling to legal counsel will require you to:

+ Prospect, develop and close sales opportunities within the target sectors;

+ Manage leads effectively in order to grow into sales;

+ Make follow-up calls and conduct research to qualify sales leads;

+ Build and nurture prospective customer relationships;

+ Attend industry and company events representing Checkbox;

+ Manage your sales administration and prospect data into HuBSpot CRM or similar;

+ Deliver to performance metrics, with a strong emphasis on new business sales;

+ Identify channel partner opportunities and work with the CEO to close and leverage them; and

+ Engage with channel partner’s sales teams to drive revenue opportunities.


Must-have Skills and Experience

We are looking for ‘a hunter’ with driven, ambitious and a “roll up the sleeves” attitude towards sales. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

+ >5 years sales experience in a business-to-business SaaS environment;

+ >5 years sales experience in the legal / NewLaw technology sector;

+ A successful history of direct new business sales, with the ability to prove consistent delivery

against targets;

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;


Strong Desired Skills and Experience

+ Experience selling into the compliance, accounting, insurance, FI or Government sectors;

+ Success in delivering channel sales opportunities;

+ Subject-matter experience in risk, financial and operational compliance.
